'Tish, You Spoke French

Those are famous words spoken by Gomez Addams to Morticia Addams from the short run television series, The Addams Family. Whenever Morticia spoke French, no matter where he was, or what he was doing, Gomez would race to her and declare, "'Tish, you spoke French!" Then he would begin kissing up her arm, beginning at the wrist and ending at the back of her neck. Most of the time Morticia would interrupt him with some practical reason, "Gomez, Uncle Fester now, savoir faire later."

It came to mind just now because of my cat. Firestar (his name is Firestar, in case you failed to pick up on that) was upstairs sleeping on the bed. I initiated a print job from my computer. Firestar loves to watch the printer in action. Two seconds after the printer gave its noisy signal that printing was soon to ensue, Firestar came crashing down the stairs like Gomez Addams racing to Morticia. I chuckle every time he does this. I've seen people do that with telephones, too. Well, before most people began carrying telephones in their pocket.
